A Serene Statement Piece

This large hand-carved Buddha head statue brings a strong sense of presence and calm to any room. At around 30 cm high and weighing around 2,635 g, it is a substantial piece of solid timber sculpture — made to be noticed, yet quiet and peaceful in character.

The Buddha’s downcast eyes, gentle smile and elongated earlobes are carved in the traditional Sri Lankan style, with rows of carved curls rising to the crown. The larger scale allows the carver to add more depth and detail than is possible on smaller pieces.

Meaning and Respectful Display

The Buddha head is a symbol of peace, wisdom and awareness. Many people choose a larger statue as the focal point of a meditation room, yoga studio or reflective corner of the home.

Traditionally, a Buddha statue is placed at or above eye level, facing into the room — on a console, sideboard, shelf or altar — and never on the floor or in a bathroom.

Hand-Carved from Solid Mahogany

Each statue is carved by hand from a single block of solid mahogany, a dense, durable hardwood valued by Sri Lankan carvers for its fine grain and rich colour.

The single-tone dark brown finish gives the piece a timeless, sophisticated look that sits comfortably in modern, coastal, Japandi and traditional interiors alike. As every piece is hand-carved, small differences in features, grain and finish make each statue one of a kind.

Size and Where to Display It

Measuring approximately 30 cm high (12 inches), 28 cm wide and 13 cm deep, and weighing around 2,635 g, this statue suits a sideboard, entry console, fireplace mantel, large bookshelf or reception desk.

It is a memorable gift for a new home, a retirement, a wellness space or a loved one who appreciates meaningful, handmade art.
