A Compact Elephant with Big Character

This hand-carved wooden elephant brings the charm of Sri Lankan craftsmanship to everyday spaces. Carved from solid mahogany, it features an expressive face, sweeping tusks and layered floral and leaf-inspired motifs across the head and body.

A two-tone brown finish highlights the carved contours and decoration, giving the piece a warm, natural look that suits modern, coastal and traditional homes alike.

Why Elephants Are a Favourite Gift

In Sri Lanka, elephants are deeply respected — they lead the Esala Perahera procession in Kandy, feature in temple art and stories, and are admired for their wisdom, loyalty and strength.

Many people keep an elephant figure at home or at work as a symbol of good luck and protection, which makes this carving a meaningful present for a new home, a new job or simply to say thank you.

Hand-Carved from Solid Mahogany

Each elephant is individually carved by Sri Lankan artisans from solid mahogany, with the decorative patterns cut by hand and the two-tone finish applied in layers. The depth of carving, grain and colour balance vary slightly on every piece — no two elephants are exactly alike.

Size and Where to Display It

Standing approximately 18 cm high (7 inches), it is ideal for a desk, bookshelf, bedside table, console or windowsill. Pair it with our 10-inch two-tone elephant statue for a matching family display.

Care Instructions

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or soft brush. Avoid water, chemical cleaners, prolonged direct sunlight and placement next to heaters or air-conditioning vents. Lift from the body rather than the trunk, tusks or ears.

For indoor display only.
